Colors are important in every motif or image source, but more important than the actual hues; are the values inside the colors. For this project, there are 6 values of red and 7 values of rose pink. Each value set is a gradation step from light to dark. Again, a real flower petal isn't just one color or shade of a color. It is multiple values and many different colors within the same hue. What I mean by this is take for instance the color red on the color wheel. The color red is a hue family. Inside this hue family are many variations of colors of red. The variations include orange red, bright red, pinky red and all other combinations in between.
Go back and look at your image source again. Can you find colors within the main hue family? Write them down. Look them up on a color wheel. I like Joen Wolfram's Ultimate 3 in 1 Color Tool. It's an exhaustive color wheel with so much information. Hope some of this in depth color discussion has sparked an interest in a deep dive into color. The rainbow is just the beginning.
